The story, mission and values of Edo State Association of Ghana — a family built by nineteen pioneers and carried by every member since.
The First Meeting
Edo State Association of Ghana was established out of a shared desire to build unity, love and cooperation among Edo indigenes residing in Ghana.
Recognizing the importance of a common platform, a group of concerned Edo sons and daughters came together and held the very first meeting of the Association on 29 April 2006 — nineteen pioneering members in attendance.
Since then, the Association has grown steadily, recording milestone after milestone in service, culture and fellowship. Today it is a vibrant hub for shared identity, cultural heritage and mutual support among Edo people living in Ghana — and in 2026 we celebrate our twentieth year.
Milestones
The first meeting of the Association is held in Accra on 29 April 2006. A constitution takes shape, and a welfare family is born — with the simple vow that no Edo person would stand alone in Ghana.
Orphanage visits and donation drives become a fixture of the Association's calendar — social responsibility as an expression of Edo values, not an afterthought.
The community gathers in thanksgiving — a celebration of faith, fellowship and the first decade of the Association's journey.
The Association adopts its revised Constitution and By-Laws — strengthening the House, the Executive Council and the welfare structures that serve every member.
A new Executive Council is inaugurated under President Isaac Osahon Ekhator, carrying the mission into its third decade.
Twenty years of unity and progress — honoured with celebration, service and a renewed promise to the next generation of Edo children growing up in Ghana.
